Buildings with near-zero energy consumption - new challenges for Bulgaria

International conference in Burgas on the zero-energy buildings co-organized by the Foundation

The Conference "On the Way of Nearly Zero Energy-Efficient Buildings: Norwegian Experience and Challenges in Bulgaria" is held in Bourgas on 20 and 21 June 2018. The Vision for Science and Technology Growth Foundation is a co-organizer in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and the Municipal Energy Efficiency Network and EnEffect, Center for Energy Efficiency with the financial support of the EEA Financial Mechanism.

The conference, which is part of the official calendar of the Bulgarian EU Council presidency, highlights key points in national legislation. The event also offers an overview of the successful practices in Bulgaria and the region and the technological innovations that support the construction of almost zero energy buildings. Special attention is paid to the funding opportunities under the Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Energy Security Priority of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area.

 The program includes various thematic sessions with the participation of Bulgarian authorities and international speakers and interactive formats that contribute to the exchange of ideas and opportunities for joint activities. Special guests at the conference were Hans van Stein, Advisor to the Director of RES, Research, Innovation and Energy Efficiency, and Maarten de Grote of the Institute of Building Characteristics and other experts who present the latest developments in energy efficiency.

Training about Nearly Zero Energy-Efficient Buildings was held on June 22 2018.
